Dear Eric and Michelle,

My husband Dave and I returned three days ago from our first-ever trip to London and Normandy and I still cannot stop thinking about our amazing tour of the D-Day beaches with Eric.  We loved London and we cant wait to get back there and explore more of the sights.  Still, the day we spent with Eric was without question the highlight of the trip.

Two things remain uppermost in my mind about our day together:  First, that Eric has such an impressive knowledge of the events surrounding D-Day that I learned much more than I could have ever hoped to learn by touring the area independently; and second, that his passion for the importance of those events and his appreciation of the people who sacrificed so much there lent a very human and emotional aspect, which made the day utterly unforgettable.  We will not forget the many stories you shared, Eric, about so many individual acts of heroism that collectively changed the course of history that day.  Thank you so much for all your insights, Eric!  It was just an incredible day for us!

I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that your tour of the DDay sites was by far the highlight of our trip.  John loved the tour and we have already passed your contact information on to others.

Hi, just gone back to work and want you to know that I showed the guys pictures of the the hols and the boys. Everyone thought they were cute as buttons. We will be back in the summer for a few days if you will have us, as the help and welcome you gave us were great.  I have never been so relaxed. Once again thanks for everything, love to the boys.

We would just like to thank you again for your hospitality. We had a great holiday, made all the better with your local knowledge, and the very comfortable surroundings and excellent breakfasts.

Sorry we had to rush away a bit - Jim was too much in the holiday mode to drag himself out of bed very early that morning. Fortunately Eric's directions back to Caen were spot on and saved the day, and we enjoyed the ride when we realized we might just make it!

Hope you have a great season business - wise and hope you'll have us back one day.

Absolutely brilliant place to stay, large room, immaculately clean with walk in wardrobe, tea/coffee maker, large bathroom. Friendly, nothing too much to trouble. Food above average. Travelled by motorbike and found everything available, garage, bike wash, drying room, all first class. Brilliant roads locally, sound advice from owner (fellow biker) on routes to takes, even get guided tour if you wish.
Great place to stay, everywhere within easy reach.
Excellent value for money.

Hi Michelle.  Tried to e-mail you yesterday, but the ships internet was extremely slow.  Tell Eric we had a WONDERFUL time and not to worry about the restaurant.  I know he was very upset with them, but Le Progreso (I think that was the name) was fabulous!!  Best fresh oysters on the half I have ever tasted!! and the mussels were wonderful too.  Loved all the architecture and the fresh baked goodies and coffee/tea in the morning as well.  We throughly enjoyed ourselves and will be sure to recommend you.

What we really must say is how much we enjoyed our too brief stay with you all in your beautiful house. We enjoyed every moment from the warm welcome & the great breakfasts, to the frequent conversations & helpful tips on all the best places. Just a thought - if you could open another branch of your wonderful establishment halfway between Calais & Domfront, we shouldn't have so far to drive in one go.

I can thoroughly recommend a stay here, the hospitality is fantastic and the rooms with en suite bathrooms are an extremely high standard, the same can be said for the breakfast provided. There are many things to see/do and places to eat in Domfront itself, so this is an excellent base for exploring Normandy from. I have now visited this Chambre DHote several times and will definitely be going back
